3 LinkedIn Quick Tips for your Job Search
5 Minute Quick Tips for Any Job Seeker
Update your Profile
LinkedIn can become overwhelming quickly. Our advice, start from the top. The first three things that a prospective employer will see are your name, picture and headline. Be sure your picture is professional (i.e. not a selfie and not a cropped vacation photo) and your headline should reflect your future goals. LinkedIn will default your headline to your current job title. If you are looking for a different role, be sure that the key words for your new direction are reflected in your headline. Need help? That's what we're here for!
Be Active
It comes down to the science here. Active LinkedIn users will appear higher in recruiter's search results as they source talent. This doesn't mean that you need to be publishing articles daily. It does mean that you need to engage across the platform. Comment on someone's post. Share an article that you find interesting. Join a new group. It doesn't have to be onerous, just active.
Follow Organizations of Interest
When a recruiter is sourcing talent, it is easy for them to sort by professionals who have already self-identified as being interested in their brand. With one click of a button on the company page, you can increase your chances of moving forward in the hiring process.
